A quick blog post to share with you guys today from what I think might be one of my favorite sessions to date. I met up with Sara and Jeremy one grey and slightly rainy day 2 weekends ago at the apple orchard. The weather was crappy, I was sick as a dog with a wicked chest cold….but we had fun and totally made the most of it. I kind of love shooting sessions on grey days…totally gives more mood to the images if you ask me!
We hit up the corn field, pumpkin patch and of course, the apple trees. You will even see an appearance from their dogs Riley and Hudson as well. And how nice of them to look right at the camera for me. Good dogs!
Sara and Jeremy are getting married tomorrow in Catskill and they are my last wedding of 2012! I cannot wait to hang out with them..it’s going to be awesome!

And just one more because it makes me laugh!

I am soooo behind on blogging, I know. It’s smack in the middle of the busy season for both family sessions and weddings for me. But I will make up for it with this awesome engagement shoot!

I feel like I say this all the time but…I love this couple. They are gorgeous and fun and I have an amazing time with them. Also, they are my family. Dan and Kaylan are my soon to be brother and sister in law. Dan and my fiance are brothers and Kaylan has become not only my soon to be sister, but a great friend to me as well. We are all getting married within 2 months of each other (and are all in each others weddings!) so we have had a great time planning.

A few weeks ago we were all up on the Cape together and were able to squeeze in an engagement session on the beach, which is something that I have been dying to do. A little back story…when Karl proposed to me on the Cape in May, I thought that I was going to the beach to do a shoot for Dan and Kaylan. I was SO excited. When Karl got down on one knee, the first thing I said to him was, “Wait, Dan and Kaylan really aren’t coming?” :-)   So I was very happy that I was able to get them in front of my camera finally!!

The light and the sunset was just yummy at the beach. If I could do sessions on the Cape for the rest of my life, I would be one happy girl.

I cannot even stand how gorgeous you are, Kaylan. Just stop.

I love you guys!! Cannot wait to celebrate with you in July!

Thankfully, the rain held off today and I was able to get some awesome shots at Sara + Jeremy’s engagement session this morning!

Little did Sarah and Josh know that when they came for their engagement session, I was going to make them hike all over! Outcome was worth it though!

This session is very special to me. I have known Kathleen for the last 6 years. I met her my first day of work at the NYS Assembly. I was nervous and the “new girl” but this 5 ft nothing fellow redhead welcomed me into the group right away. Anyone that knows Kathleen knows of her sense of style and sense of humor. Kathleen is a 1920′s girl trapped in 2012 and I give her quite a bit of grief about it. She wears hats to work every day and I can literally count on one hand the amount of times that she has worn a pair of pants. We have a unique relationship where she likes to push my buttons and I roll my eyes at her about a million times a day. (Also…I swear to God…she has a dog with backwards legs.)

What you cannot tell by just looking at her is that she is one of the strongest, most selfless, caring and honest people that I have ever met in my entire life. She is the type of person that would drop everything to help you out. She is fiercely loyal and the two of us have been through a lot together. When she met Arun and fell in love, I was overjoyed. There is no one that deserves happiness more than this girl. Ok….enough of the sappiness. I’m starting to get myself teary!!

Today I am starting a new job and a new chapter in my life, and I thought it was fitting that though this is my first day of work in 6 years where she is no longer my coworker, she is still a part of my Monday morning.

Meet Kathleen + Arun!

Note: this was her CASUAL OUTFIT. Hahahaha! Flapper right out of the ’20s, right? But Kathleen pulls it off!

We found this old boat and it was perfect…they are getting married on July 21st!

After a quick outfit change, where I swear to god I busted out laughing when she came out with her fancypants hat, they had themselves a little champagne picnic on the beach. (Please just imagine if you will, everyone at the park in their bathing suits and shorts, and these two look like they are going to a polo match. I love it.)

I finally persuaded her to take the hat off for the end of the shoot, so that I could actually see that pretty face of hers.

Kathleen and Arun, thank you so much for trusting me with your engagement shoot. I cannot wait to celebrate your wedding and dance the night away to some Indian music. Love you guys!! xoxo
